O artigo analisa como o desejo sexual participa da estrutura fílmica e da representação do corpo em Adeus, Dragon Inn (Bu San, 2003), de Tsai Ming-liang, Bom trabalho (Beau travail, 1999), de Claire Denis, e O fantasma (2000), de João Pedro Rodrigues. Em comum, as obras recorrem a procedimentos visuais e à performance corporal para apresentar uma economia libidinal que baliza a relação dos personagens com o universo a que pertencem. Em face disso, almeja-se discutir como, na lida com o desejo, o corpo resiste às forças sociais e afetivas que lhe são impostas.
