Author Biographies

Arthur Autran, Universidade Federal de São Carlos

He holds a PhD from the Instituto de Artes da Unicamp and is a Full Professor in the Department of Arts and Communication at the Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar). Since 2014, he has led the research group Cinema e Audiovisual na América Latina: Economia e Estética. He was a member of the Board of the Cinemateca Brasileira (2003–2016) and is currently part of the Sociedade de Amigos da Cinemateca.

Mannuela Ramos da Costa, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco

She holds a PhD in Communication and Culture from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), with a sandwich doctorate period at Paris 3/Sorbonne Nouvelle (France). She is a professor in the Cinema and Audiovisual program at the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE) and an audiovisual filmmaker, partner at Plano 9 (PE).

Aletéia Selonk, Fórum Brasileiro de Ensino de Cinema e Audiovisual - FORCINE

She holds a PhD in Social Communication from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), with a period of study at the Sorbonne. She dedicated 20 years to teaching and, in 2024, founded Instituto Akamani, a space dedicated to audiovisual education and the creation of professional communities. She currently serves as president of Siav – Sindicato da Indústria Audiovisual do RS, is a member of the Council of Representatives of the Fórum Brasileiro de Ensino de Cinema e Audiovisual – FORCINE, of + Mulheres Audiovisual, and is a full member of the Conselho Superior de Cinema.
